FOOD POISONING INCIDENT IN MARUGLO

October 17, 2023 : Third Day Surveillance

The RESU, EB, and PESU, along with the Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (MESU) staff, visited Brgy. Maruglo to conduct a comprehensive investigation, including interviews with teachers and community members involved.

Additional Rectal swabbing for 147 patients without symptoms and water sampling at nearby sitio and purok were done. And Affected IPs in the surrounding area are also provided with medical consultation and were given aqua tabs and jerry cans.

These efforts were carried out in order to deal with the food poisoning incident, give appropriate help to those affected, and collect data for analysis and prevention of future incidents. The combined efforts of multiple government agencies ( LGU,Brgy.Council, DepEd, 710th ABG PAF ) and health offices ( DOH, RESU,EB, PESU, PHO,MESU,MHO, MDRRMC, ONC, CDH,TPH ) ensured a quick response to the problem as well as a thorough investigation to determine the source of the food poisoning outbreak.
