CAPAS MUNICIPAL HEALTH OFFICE CONDUCTS
HIV TESTING & SEARCH FOR MS HIV ADVOCATE
In an effort to promote HIV awareness and provide crucial support to the LGBTQIA+ community, CAPAS – Municipal Health Office conducted a series of HIV testing and launched a search for a Miss HIV advocate on November 27, 2023.
The initiative aims to address the growing concerns related to HIV and to encourage individuals to take proactive steps towards understanding and managing their health. The event was marked by a strong turnout from members of the LGBTQIA community, who actively participated in the testing and expressed their support for the cause.
In an exciting development, it has been announced that the award for Miss HIV Advocate will be presented as a special honor during the upcoming Miss Gay Capas Coronation Night on December 2, 2023. This platform will provide an opportunity to celebrate and recognize an individual who exemplifies dedication and advocacy in the fight against HIV within the community.
The search for a Miss HIV advocate is part of a broader campaign to raise awareness and destigmatize HIV within the community. The advocate will play a key role in promoting education, providing support, and advocating for the rights of individuals affected by HIV.
Through these efforts, the Municipal Health Office of Capas is demonstrating its commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for all community members, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The initiative represents an important step forward in addressing the healthcare needs of the LGBTQIA community and promoting a culture of acceptance and understanding.
As the event continues to unfold, it is evident that the municipality of Capas is taking proactive measures to address the challenges posed by HIV and to create a more supportive environment for its residents. The search for a Miss HIV advocate and the HIV testing initiative stand as powerful symbols of progress and unity within the community.
